NEW YORK, Oct. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The Financial Technology Conference and Expo to be held October 23-25, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City has added additional content to its educational program that addresses the new and emerging needs of the securities, banking, and insurance industries in light of September 11th. New sessions focus on individual companies' business interruption and recovery experiences, critical approaches toward business continuity offered by IT vendors and consultants, and how to respond to the need for beefed up security and money trails within the critical financial services sector of the global economy. A Town Hall meeting has also been added that will allow speakers, conference delegates, and attendees the opportunity to share experiences and advice.
``Until September 11, the greatest technological challenges facing the financial services industry were convergence and consolidation,'' said Charles Pelton, editorial director of the 10th Annual Financial Technology Conference and Expo (http://www.ftexpo.com/) and CMP Media's Business Technology Event Group. ``The attacks on the World Trade Center have brought a larger, overarching issue to the fore: what's the best strategy to deal with business interruption, disaster recovery, and business continuity? FTCE will present attendees and conference delegates the opportunity to learn from leading experts and companies who will share their knowledge and experience on the relationship between technology and these new business realities.''
In addition to several new sessions, FTCE has also partnered with the ``World Trade Center IT Mobilization'' consortium, established by XB5 Partners Inc., that helps companies affected in the disaster get back on their feet. The consortium offers services without charge to any NYC firm needing short- term support as a result of the disaster. Donated services include: assessment of systems damage and recovery project plans, disaster recovery, project management, and day-to-day operations.
Other topics that will be presented at the FTCE Conference -- comprised of keynotes, panels, technical workshops and lectures -- will include technology infrastructure, industry convergence and consolidation, customer relationship management, including managing Web, e-mail, and call center contact, electronic billing and payment, and standards affecting the securities, banking and insurance industries. The Wireless Financial Services Summit on Tuesday, October 23rd will examine the state of today's financial mobile commerce sector and the importance of integrating wireless technologies into broader multi-channel strategies.
Industry visionaries presenting the Keynote Addresses include Jeff Henley, the Chief Financial Officer of Oracle Corp., speaking on ``Unified Enterprise View: Adding Value to Every Product and Service Integration,'' on Tuesday, October 23rd at 10 a.m. Presenting the Wireless Financial Services Summit Keynotes, also on Tuesday, October 23rd are Joseph G.
